European Gold and Silver for SPC Members!
The inaugural pre-European Pickleball Championships (EPC) in Southampton was a resounding success, with a fantastic turnout of top players representing 24 countries across Europe . The event showcased the vibrant and competitive spirit of international pickleball.
4 members of Swindon Pickleball Club competed in the pre-EPC warm-up event. Huge congratulations to Bob Nash, who with his partner Simone from Italy, came away with Silver in the 50+ mens doubles 3.5 category. Huge congratulations to Dan O’Brien and his partner Chanel who won Gold in the 18+ 3.5 mixed doubles category. A great result for Sharon Marshman and Jo Forss, who came 4th in their 50+ womens doubles 3.0 category, narrowly missing out on the Bronze.
Sharon and Jo delivered an impressive performance throughout the tournament, going through top of their group.
Sharon said: We were very lucky to see some of the top players across Europe playing and we witnessed the perfect ATP right in front of us. Very exciting!
Jo said: It was a fantastic day competing against all the different nations. The Italians were definitely our favourites 😊 and love that Bob is now half Italian!
